Tacaco was virtual platform for commercializating organic and conventional products from the Farmers’ Markets in Costa Rica.
Faced with the Global Pandemic of COVID-19, TACACO emerged as a solution to reduce conglomeration of people and avoid contagion at markets.
At the same time, Tacaco helped to maintain the links between farmers and consumers. Links that had been forged over the years and that now provide confidence to the custumers!
In TACACO, consumers could select the desired products from each farmer until completing a basket of products, then they could select the option to pick up at the farmers’ market or have the products delivered to their home.
TACACO began as a pilot project in the Mercado Libre of the Canton of Turrialba. At this time, the platform is waiting for strategic alliances to carry out its implementation permanently.
TACACO was thought of as a scalable solution, so the platform is available for use in other regions throughout the country and, why not, in other latitudes.
